“身体怎么样，生活上还有困难情况吗？”……每到一处，林大忠会长都亲切地和困难退役军人及家属拉着家常，详细了解他们的身体状况、家庭情况。

在年近九十的王金尧家中，听闻讲述解放一江山的惨烈战斗，有多少人流血牺牲，倒下了再也没能回来，现在生活虽然不富裕，但是也很满足了，感谢党和政府的关爱了；在池方程家中，林大忠会长了解到池方程在当兵时由于从事开发铀矿，可能是因为长期铀幅射的原因，身体一直长期患病，林会长要求一同前往的徐同志将此事作初步的了解后汇总到乐清协会上报；在吕孔飞租住的家中，他家两个子女在学校读书，母亲生大病花费了巨额医药费，仅靠夫妻俩人打工维持，家庭经济很困难；林会长勉励吕孔飞克服困难，继续干好本职工作，树立生活的信心。
